The Bobcat video was pretty awesome. The intro and outro were reminiscent with that of a marvel movie, opening with a comic based panel. After the introductory part, the video went a bit more into depth of what Bobcat machinery can do. Then we were shown very different environments and situations for which they can be used for such as, moving large amounts of gravel, snow and even dirt for when it is time to level an area for construction. Also, we are given a bit on an in-depth view of how the devices are controlled, as well as that you can use them at various speeds depending on what you are trying to accomplish. If there was one overall message this video was portraying, the message I received was versatility and durability of this piece of equipment.
Do you have plans to take your patio to the next level this season, but don’t know where to start? Making some simple DIY improvements to your outdoor living space is like adding a whole new room to your home, one you can enjoy almost year-round.
Bring the Indoors Out with Cozy Furniture
Many of the elements that make your other living areas comfortable can be used outdoors in your patio space. There is a wider variety than ever of weatherproof furniture, complete with plush cushions, that can stand up to anything Mother Nature dishes out. The same goes for rugs and other homey accents. These pieces give the illusion of blending your indoor and outdoor spaces into one. Just decide how your space will be used – for dining or lounging – and plan out your space accordingly. If space is tight, there are clever fold-up table and chair options that can be stowed away when not in use.
Let there be Light
The market has exploded in recent years with a vast array of solar-powered lighting options that allow you to bring instant drama to your backyard living space without having to worry about electrical outlets or unsightly wiring. Use solar path lighting to illuminate walkways or borders, and hang decorative solar-powered lanterns as beautiful accents near seating areas. Stringed lights now come in a variety of solar styles and bulb sizes, and add drama to shrubs and trees with their soft, twinkling glow.
Spruce up the Landscape
Add some natural elements with simple, but eye-catching landscaping. Even if you don’t have a green thumb, some simple flowerbeds or artfully placed potted plants can add colorful texture to your outdoor space. If you’re feeling a little more ambitious, consider adding a water feature, such as a fountain or waterfall. All the tools and know-how you’ll need can be found at your local equipment rental store.
Turn up the Heat
Adding an element of warmth will allow you to enjoy your patio during all four seasons. You can build a simple fire pit, or add a chimenea for enticing ambiance regardless of the weather. Finish off your space with a grill and now you truly have an additional multi-use space that will get you out of the house and into the great outdoors when it’s time to kick back and relax.
Many love the look of a waterfall. It can also provide relaxing background noise. Some truly enjoy the sound of water. Usually a pond is needed if you want to make one in your yard but this shows you how to get around that. Not everyone has the room for a pond and some just don’t want one because of the insects and other wildlife that might be attracted to the area by a pond.
- A basin is hidden underground so that there will be no standing water.
- The waterfall will have a submersible pump, which will pump the water up to the spillway.
- Large stones and river rock, as well as rustic plants, will give it a natural appearance.
“The whole idea is we want to mimic nature we want it to look as if we were never here.”
There are many reasons to build a pond so this info on how to do so is useful to keep on hand. Ponds are lovely. They can give you a place to relax near the water. You can enjoy nature this way. You can also keep fish in a pond to catch or to just look at. Ponds provide so many opportunities for recreation and enjoyment that even if you don’t swim you can surely find something you like.
- Contact your utility providers so that you know where it is safe to install your pond.
- Research types of liners so that you purchase one that meets your needs.
- Adding fish to your pond requires a pump and filter so that the water remains algae free and clean.
“Ordinances vary from community to community and, depending on the size of your pond, you may be subject to additional regulations.”
