Butterflies keep to the seasons and tend to head for warmer climates when the weather turns cold, but some always hang around a bit longer. They might have hatched later than the others or it could be something nature does to keep from having all the butterflies on the exact same schedule. Regardless, some late blooming plants offer the straggler insects the chance to feed and shelter before they leave to join the rest of the crowd.
