To make a snap cut when cutting a tree, take a chainsaw and make one cut close to where you want the limb severed. Then make another cut a couple of inches higher than that cut. These cuts will not be made all the way through the limb. Once the two cuts are in place, grab the limb a little about the highest cut and snap it. The limb should break off easily. Then, you can make another cut at the stump to make it more precise.
