Used building materials, such as old wooden doors can be re-purposed, even if they are missing hardware and finish. The wood door can be cut down and made into a 16 by 20 shadow box. A shadow box is like a 3D picture frame that you can put items inside of for display. To do this, first break the door into pieces using a circular saw and shave of the stain with a table saw. Then cut the wood frame into length and dado a panel for glass if you choose. Next sand the wood and fill any old screw holes. You will then use wood glue and screws to hold the shadow box together. You may add any finish you desire.
