The author talks about the pumpkins that are being grown in the garden, specifically pumpkins being grown not in traditional ground but the compost pile instead. They author was hoping for two pumpkins per vine, but looks to have well beyond that, mainly of more heirloom varieties instead of the normal bright orange ones.
