Boxwood is a slow growing plant used in borders and they make wonderful topiaries. The live ones tend to take a long time to grow, though, and you can make a faux boxwood topiary with ease and speed. Placed in a cement-styled container, the look is reminiscent of an Italian countryside but you can recreate it all with a glue gun, paper mache pots and craft supplies. Concrete paint and real birch twigs as stems pull the look together to make a realistic and quintessential topiary.
